Preventing Pregnancy Stretch Marks
January 26, 2008

The mistake that most women make is that they wait until their belly begins to swell before treating the potential problem. Some even wait until after the first few stretch marks appear. By this time, it can be too late and treatment may never completely rid the skin of the marks. This is why I chose to start conditioning and preparing my skin from as early as seven weeks of pregnancy. There are many skincare products that are specially formulated to moisturize and prepare the skin for pregnancy. With so many to choose from, all varying in price, which work the best? All of them do! They all use the same key ingredients that help to keep the skin moisturized, soft and supple. Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Collagen and Elastin are the elements in which work their magic and are the main ingredients in all stretch mark prevention and treatment products.
During my first pregnancy, I used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula, Massage Lotion For Stretch Marks religiously throughout my pregnancy. I also used Queen Helene Natural Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Body Oil with Vitamin E
for added moisturization. When I say that I used these products religiously, I mean everyday, several times a day without fail! The key is to be consistent. My skin was so well moisturized that I can honestly say there were only a few times that I ever experienced itching of my skin. I took that as a good sign, and sure enough, I ended my pregnancy completely free of any stretch marks! By taking the necessary steps, you can do it too!

Thanks for the great advice. Here is another method that I used. When I was pregnant, I used pure olive oil on my tummy every day without fail! I did this for 2 pregnancies and had NO stretchmarks at all. The olive oil was messy at times, and got on my clothing, but it was worth it.
I used Palmers for a while, but it was expensive, so I went with Vasaline Intensive Care Cocoa Butter. I loved it and I came out stretch mark free!

I am not pregnant (yet) but I have been using Palmer’s Cocoa butter for years. This is basically the only thing I use on my skin and everyone keeps telling me that I have great skin.
Some people do not think that cocoa butter works on scars and marks but I am a firm believer. My boyfriend and I used to donate plasma every week and this left marks on our arms. I started putting a dab of cocoa butter on the scar and covering it with a band aid at night and after a few months the skin is soft, smooth and flat again.
Palmer’s is relatively expensive but for me it is well worth the splurge.
When I got pregnant, worried about my stretchmarks . I tried different creams but to no effect. Atlast, I used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter formula, applied during twice a day during my pregnancy. After 2 weeks I realized that there are no stretch marks. So, I advice other pregnant womens to apply the same and get good results.
