Like the 2007 Fall Makeup Trend, the gray smoky eye and matte skin are still in style. The only difference for spring is that a touch of color and shimmer are added to the eye, giving it a subtle, but unmistakable sparkle. Very cool blue and purple tones are stealing the spotlight in this spring’s makeup collections. Chanel, Givenchy, and Dior focus mainly on these blue and purple-oriented tones, but also include a beautiful mixture of accent tones in warm and cool pinks, ranging from mauve to pale pink. MAC makes a bolder statement by also incorporating sunset golds, metallic grays and even frosty turquoise. While matte skin remains the trend for spring, adding illuminator to highlight the skin will give it a brighter appearance. I’ve always been a little afraid of color, especially when it comes to eye makeup. I’m always unsure as to what may be too much or not enough. Fortunately, I had gotten a Clinique gift with purchase that day. Inside the Clinique gift package was a sample size Clinique High Definition Lashes. This mascara has a brush on one side, and a lash comb on the other. I never considered using one before but it sure solved my lash clumping problem.

I didn’t want to waste the mascara that I purchased so I continued to use it to coat my lashes. Next, I used the Clinique lash comb, being sure to comb through the entire lash line. Before using the lash comb again, I quickly learned that cleaning it off between combing was important too.

I love the Clinique High Definition Lashes so much, that I plan to stick with it instead of the High Impact mascara. It was a little “too high impact” for me.

So let’s review how to avoid lash clumping:

• Using a mascara wand, sweep from the bottom of the lashes to the top. Don’t just do the tips!
• After the first coat, use a lash comb and comb through the entire lash line.
• Clean off the comb inbetween lash combings.

Thankfully, Revlon offers this very handy makeup eraser tool that is both convenient and effective. The Revlon Eye Makeup Eraser Pen is designed just like a pen with a felt-like tip that is saturated with an oily makeup remover solution. Now you may be wary about using this oily solution on your skin, but in fact, the oil is what makes this product so magical. Truth be told, the best solvent for removing makeup is an oily substance. 1. To achieve smooth results, you must exfoliate your skin before application of your self tanner. A mild exfoliation, such as a scrub, is best to use the day before applying your sunless tanner.
